Haptics Project
Vertical Slip Sensation Simulation
Design & Prototyping
CAD and electronics prototyping for Haptics Interfaces course project

About
As part of our UC San Diego graduate-level Haptics Interfaces coursework, we designed an interactive videogame-stye interface that simulates objects falling vertically downward.
The device consists of 3D-printed structural tube components, steel bearings, elastic bands for traction, rods, motors, and an Arduino Mega microcontroller. Force-sensitive resistors (FSRs) are used to detect finger squeeze force, which causes a virtual continuously falling block to slow to a stop, within a target region.
